One of the last remaining pioneering fathers of The Gambia’s independence, MC Cham Snr, has passed away.
He was among the Gambian delegates who participated in the historic independence talks at the Marlborough Conference in the United Kingdom in the mid-1960s.

He died on Friday afternoon following a brief illness.
Gambians from all walks of life have been paying tribute to his contributions to the nation’s independence and development.
