The Gambia earned a 2-0 victory over Burundi in their FIFA World Cup qualifier at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Defender Alagie Saine won the penalty that Alieu Fadera confidently converted in the first half to give the Scorpions the lead.

Fadera later turned provider, setting up Ebou Adams, who doubled the advantage with a powerful strike in the 77th minute.

Substitute Yankuba Minteh impressed after coming on in the second half, but his efforts were denied by the Burundian goalkeeper.

Despite the convincing win, The Gambia’s hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup are over.

With only two matches remaining, the Scorpions sit third in Group F on 10 points—well behind leaders
