The Gambia U-18 boys’ beach volleyball team secured their place in the Round of 16 at the FIVB World U-18 Beach Volleyball Championship in Doha, Qatar, with a commanding straight-sets victory over Congo.

Bakary Bunja Kanyi and Abdallah Jallow led the team with powerful serves, precise sets, and clinical attacks. They took the first set 21–15 and dominated the second 21–13, demonstrating excellent teamwork and composure on the sand.

The duo will now face Turkey in at 20:45 this evening, aiming to continue Gambia’s strong run.

Meanwhile, the Gambia U-18 girls’ team bowed out of the competition in the Round of 24, losing in straight sets to Venezuela.
