Alieu Gassama, an officer cadet of the Gambia army, has graduated in cadet training course at the prestigious British Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, United Kingdom.

The Gambian soldier has been praised as an exemplary officer for his disciplinary courage in accomplishing one of the elite training course.

“Officer Cadet Alieu Gassama of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) completed Officer Cadet training at the prestigious British Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, United Kingdom. Cadet Gassama made the GAF proud with his dedication, commitment and determination to complete a tough and challenging course.

“The passing out ceremony of his batch was held on 11 August 2023. Cadet Gassama has been praised for his courage during his stay at Sandhurst, a renowned military academy that boasts of training elite forces across the world. He is an example of what young soldiers can accomplish with the right opportunity to acquire modern skills in military training.

“Her Excellency Dr Fatou Bensouda, High Commissioner of The Gambia in London and staff attended the passing out ceremony of the energetic young Officer Cadet and were delighted to hear the brilliance of Cadet Gassama,” the Gambia Armed Forces said in a statement.
