
Gambian beach volleyball pair Ensa Kanyi and Abdallah Bah pulled off a major upset to defeat Nigeria’s Isaac Agwan James and Kosisochukwu Michael Elido in the semi-finals of the U-18 Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in Abuja.
After dropping the first set 21–15, the Gambians mounted a spirited comeback, winning the second set 21–14 and clinching the decisive third set 15–12 in a tightly contested match.
The thrilling encounter saw both teams deliver high-level performances, but it was Kanyi and Bah who held their nerve to secure victory and a place in the tournament final.
The result marks another milestone in Gambia’s growing reputation in youth beach volleyball on the continent.
