
Gambiana senior reporter Adama Makasuba has been selected to participate in a two-week media training programme in the People’s Republic of China.
Mr Makasuba will travel with three other Gambian online journalists from Banjul to Beijing to attend the Seminar on New Media Platform Operation and Management for “Belt and Road” Countries.
Reacting to his selection, Mr Makasuba expressed delight and appreciation to Gambiana’s proprietor and managing editor, Momodou Musa Touray, for his continuous support and mentorship.
“I am very happy to be selected for this seminar. I’m also grateful to Gambiana and Mr Touray for giving me the opportunity and guiding me in journalism,” he said.
During their stay, the Gambian delegation will explore several Chinese cities as part of the seminar itinerary.
Mr Makasuba also praised Mr Touray’s encouragement and generosity over the years, describing him as “a man of trust and inspiration.”

He further thanked the Gambia Press Union for the confidence reposed in him and for selecting him to take part in the seminar.
Mr Makasuba extended his gratitude to the government of the People’s Republic of China for the initiative, which aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
