Gambians in Germany will protest against mass deportation of Gambian migrants on Saturday July 8 in the German city of Stuttgart.

The group’s protest is coming on the back of plan of mass deportation of Gambian migrants living in Germany in July. At least more than hundred Gambians living in Europe have been deported since 2017.

Yaya Sonko, German-based Gambian migrant rights activist, told Gambians to come out in their numbers to ensure the mass deportation is stopped.

“We are here to inform you all that next Saturday on the 8 of July, we are going to demonstrate against the culture of deportation between The Gambia and the European Union in Stuttgart. So, please come out in your large numbers,” he said.

“It’s important for us to come out in our large numbers because this will be a measure for us on how to stop mass deportation,” he added.
