Gambians intending to undertake the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage will face increased costs, with the full package set at D585,000, Gambia International Airlines (GIA) has announced.
The fee covers return air travel to Saudi Arabia, hotel accommodation in Mecca and Medina, three meals daily, and ground transportation.
Pilgrims will also receive accommodation in Mina with full board and one Zam Zam bottle per person.
However, the cost does not include the Tobaski ram, which pilgrims wishing to offer a sacrifice must purchase separately for D16,000.
GIA has urged those who made early deposits to complete payments by Friday, 31 October 2025, and to submit their Gambian passports at the airport head office promptly.
In its announcement, the airline reassured pilgrims of a smooth and successful pilgrimage, adding prayers that Allah accepts all Hajj journeys.
The rising costs mean Gambian pilgrims will need to plan financially to participate in the 2026 Hajj.
