Gambia’s future sprint stars are flying the flag high in Algeria as four promising athletes have booked their lanes in the 200m finals at the ongoing African School Games.

Amadou Sabally and Buba Bayo laid down serious markers in the men’s semi-finals, both crossing the line first in their heats with times of 21.47 and 21.94 seconds respectively.

In the women’s category, Serreh Sanneh powered to victory in her race in 24.88 seconds, while Aminata Beyai kept her medal hopes alive by clinching a fastest-loser spot with 25.26 seconds.

The finals promise to be a thrilling showcase for Gambia’s young athletic talent as they look to bring medals home from Algeria.
