Officials of the Gambia Football Federation are in Nyakoi, Upper River Region, to inaugurate a newly constructed mini stadium valued at approximately D14.6 million.
The project was financed largely through support from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, which contributed about D12.4 million, while the GFF provided approximately D2.25 million toward the total cost of the facility.

Despite the significance of the project and the scale of investment, the inauguration has taken place without prior public announcement on the federation’s official social media platforms or website.

Members of the public were not formally informed and several journalists indicated they were unaware of the ceremony before officials arrived in the region.
The mini stadium, constructed to boost grassroots football development in the Upper River Region, includes essential facilities aimed at improving access to quality football infrastructure for local communities.

While the completion of the project is being seen as a major milestone for football development in Nyakoi, questions have emerged regarding the lack of public communication and media engagement surrounding the official inauguration.
