Lands and religious affairs minister Hamat NK Bah has urged residents of Upper Saloum to register for their voter’s cards in a show of support for President Adama Barrow ahead of the next presidential election.
Speaking during Meet the People Tour in the Central River Region, Hon. Bah reminded the community of Upper Saloum’s key role in past elections and appealed to them to maintain their loyalty to the President.
He described President Barrow as a “working hero” devoted to national development.
“President Barrow can work the whole night without rest,” he said.
The minister encouraged citizens to take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise to ensure a strong mandate for the President.
“We will all meet at Janjanbureh to make sure enough voter’s cards are obtained and that President Barrow secures 80% of the votes,” he said.
Hon. Bah praised the progress made under Barrow’s leadership, describing him as “the only relevant and important candidate” for the upcoming election.
He also drew comparisons between healthcare in The Gambia and in developed countries, saying: “In America or Europe, hospitals are not everywhere, but in The Gambia, they are widely accessible.”
During the event, Hon. Bah fulfilled a promise to the people of Daru Mbayen by donating a new milling machine.
“You asked for a milling machine, and I have provided a brand-new one. Follow your Governor to collect it,” he told the crowd.
