Operations have resumed at the Banjul ferry terminal after a heavy downpour caused a disruption that left dozens of passengers stranded in the rain.
The situation left many passengers frustrated, sparking backlash against the ferry service, which was accused of halting operations without prior notice.
However, the Gambia Ferry Services explained that the temporary suspension was necessary to ensure passenger safety.

“Due to the heavy downpour and unfavorable weather conditions, management temporarily halted operations for safety reasons. Your safety is always our top priority.

“We are pleased to inform the public that the ferry is currently en route to Barra following the resumption of service. We urge all our valued customers to download the Ferry Locator App to track ferry movements in real time for better travel planning,” the statement said.
