Henry Gomez has made a damning prophecy about politician-lawyers Ousainou Darboe and Essa Faal, predicting that the duo “will never lead The Gambia” in their lifetimes.
The former Youth and Sports Minister, who became an adviser to President Adama Barrow following the 2019 major cabinet reshuffle that saw Darboe sacked as vice president, challenged Gambians to hold him accountable for his remarks on the pair.
“Let me put it on record that I am making this prophecy: both Essa Faal and Ousainou Darboe will never be president in this country. The one to succeed President Adama Barrow is already there, but not these people. And Barrow is going to win in 2026,” he said.

Gomez is among the few political figures openly backing Barrow’s leadership, with his relationship with the president remaining cordial.
He dismissed critics who once served in Barrow’s administration as “irrelevant” individuals who only began criticising after the president “whipped them with a divorce cane” because “they are no longer eating.”

He added: “When Essa Faal was in government, he was silent. Why didn’t he criticise then? Why was he silent? So, I don’t want to respond to those types of people.”
Both Lawyer Ousainou Darboe and Lawyer Essa Faal are yet to respond to Henry’s prophecy remarks.
