Banjul high court has today acquitted and discharged Sainabou Mbye, Cherno Mbye, and Kimbilly Dambele.

The trio had been facing manslaughter and exposing a child to danger charges.

However, when the case was called up today, state prosecutor MB Sowe informed the court that the state minister filed a nolle prosequi against Sainabou Mbye, Cherno Mbye, and Kimbilly Dambele.

He added that the state has no intention to prosecute Sainabou Mbye, Cherno Mbye, and Kimbilly Dambele, adding that the state wanted  to withdraw the case.

After hearing the submission of the state prosecutor, presiding judge Justice Ebrima Jaiteh granted the application and acquitted and discharged Sainabou Mbye, Cherno Mbye, and Kimbilly Dambele.
