A company of infantry soldiers of The Gambia Armed Forces have been deployed at Sukuta Traffic Light after three police officers were gunned down yesterday by an unknown assailant. 

Two police officers have died from their inj while a third in in critical condition at Ndemban Clinic. 

A nationwide manhunt has been launched for the alleged shooter. 

The Gambia army said yesterday through a WhatsApp group that:”The Gambia Armed Forces just received information about an alleged shooting incident around Sukuta Traffic Light. 

“Details are sketchy but a patrol team has been sent to the general area from 1 Infantry Battalion, Yundum Barracks to gather further information about what actually happened.”
