Former President Yahya Jammeh has urged APRC supporters to stop insulting one another, calling for restraint as tensions continue within the party’s No-To-Alliance faction.

In an audio message, Jammeh said he was unhappy with the growing exchange of insults among supporters and urged them not to retaliate, even when criticism is directed at him personally.

“I don’t like people insulting each other,” Jammeh said.

Jammeh also recalled occasions during his presidency when people gathered and insulted him, saying he chose not to take action against them.

He urged his supporters to adopt the same approach by remaining calm and refusing to respond to provocation.

The former president also expressed disappointment over failed attempts to reconcile the competing sides within the APRC, describing the situation with the phrase “45% digging, 55% burying.”

His comments come amid continuing disagreements within the No-To-Alliance faction over the party’s political direction ahead of the December 2026 presidential election.

Jammeh’s appeal comes as political activity intensifies, with parties and movements negotiating possible alliances and coalitions ahead of the polls.

The former president urged supporters to exercise discipline and avoid personal attacks, saying political differences should not lead to insults and further division.
