Nuha F. Korta, the newly elected President of the West Coast Region Football Academies Association, has pledged to prioritise development, collaboration, and sustainability in youth football.
Nuha said his first steps will be to “assess the current state of our academies, establish clear lines of communication between all members, and reinforce our commitment to player development and safety,” adding that he will create a strategic plan shaped by feedback from all stakeholders.
To unite academies, Korta plans to roll out regular programmes and capacity-building initiatives to “foster collaboration rather than competition.”
Mr Korta acknowledged challenges such as funding gaps and player engagement but vowed to “actively seek partnerships with sponsors, local businesses and local authorities to secure funding.”
Outlining his vision, Korta emphasised holistic youth development that promotes “football skills, personal growth, teamwork, and resilience,” with equal opportunities for all.
He concluded by stressing the importance of working with authorities and community stakeholders to secure investment and enhance grassroots football in the region.
