Bangally Manneh struck deep into stoppage time to hand 10-man Fortune FC a dramatic 1-0 victory over Hawks FC in a tense Gambia Football Federation Division One encounter at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The contest was evenly balanced for long spells, with Hawks FC enjoying a slight edge in possession, while Fortune FC carved out the clearer opportunities. Salifu Colley and Muhammed Jallow were at the heart of Fortune’s attacking play, combining well to create promising moves that kept the Hawks defence alert.

The complexion of the match changed in the 56th minute when Fortune FC captain Sambujang Touray was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, leaving the hosts to battle the remainder of the game with ten men.

Hawks FC pushed forward in search of an advantage but struggled to break down a resilient Fortune FC backline. Just when the match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw, substitute Bangally Manneh found himself clear on goal in the 90+4 minute and calmly finished to seal an unlikely late winner for the home side.

In other Division One results, Omar Jabang’s strike proved decisive as BST Galaxy FC edged Medina United 1-0, while TMT FC and Falcons FC played out a goalless draw.
