A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash involving a taxi on Saturday evening. 

The accident happened around SOS Children’s Village in Bakoteh.

A mechanic known to be driving the taxi has been arrested for dangerous driving by the police.

Vehicles and cars coming from Senegambia and Kotu end were stuck in a long traffic jam following the accident as police condoned off the area. 

“The taxi is wrong. It was coming from the side of the road to get onto the road while this man was riding his motorbicycle. And we suddently heard noise and we rushed and found it was a collision,” an eyewitness told Gambiana exclusively.

“I trust that this man who was driving the taxi will be dealt with accordingly with the law. Because this policeman [who was at the scene] has no compromise. He is very strict with his job,” a driver also told Gambiana.
