The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) has informed the public of a planned temporary disruption in water supply affecting parts of the Greater Banjul Area.

According to a notice issued by the company, water services will be interrupted on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The scheduled outage is to enable technical teams to connect a newly installed pipeline section to the existing water distribution network.

NAWEC explained that the works form part of ongoing efforts to improve water supply infrastructure and enhance service delivery to customers.

The temporary shutdown is necessary to safely integrate the new pipeline into the system without causing damage or long-term service interruptions.

Residents and businesses in Bijilo and Kerr Sering are expected to be affected during the four-hour maintenance period.

Customers in these areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements, including storing sufficient water for essential use ahead of the scheduled works.

The company assured the public that supply will be restored immediately after the connection is completed and the system is stabilised.

NAWEC expressed regret for any inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation as it continues efforts to upgrade and maintain critical water infrastructure.
