Police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 28-year-old Ebrima Njie, an auto electrician from Latrikunda German.

According to a police update issued on Tuesday, Buba Jallow is now in custody and is assisting investigators.

Njie allegedly sustained fatal stab wounds during an altercation on Monday, June 29, 2026. He was rushed to Kanifing General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the suspect remains in custody while investigations continue. Once the investigation is completed, the case will be forwarded for prosecution in accordance with the law.

The Gambia Police Force said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
