Police said they have arrested three suspects after a video showing the theft of a goat in the London Corner area went viral on social media.

The arrests were carried out by the Kotu Anti-Crime Unit on Monday, February 9, 2026, following what police described as swift intelligence work triggered by the footage.

According to a police statement, the Officer Commanding Kotu Anti-Crime, Superintendent Ousman Corr, led a targeted operation that resulted in the arrest of two suspects at a residence in Serrekunda.

Police said further investigations, based on leads developed after the first arrests, helped officers identify and apprehend a third suspect who is believed to have played a supporting role in the offence.

The Gambia Police Force commended members of the public for their vigilance and cooperation, saying public support remains critical in helping security personnel detect crime and maintain safety in communities.

Police have urged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
