President Adama Barrow has described his former minister of agriculture, Omar Amadou Jallow, in his eulogy message he described his death as end of an “epoch of Gambian political history”.

OJ as he was better known died Sunday evening aged 77 after long illness. He also served as agriculture minister in former President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara government.

Meanwhile, Barrow said: “I learned about the passing away of another great son of our country Honourable Omar A. Jallow, alias OJ, who passed away Sunday evening after a long illness.

“May Allah grant him Jannahtul Firdawsi as his lasting abode. I extend my condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.”

“An epoch of The Gambia’s political history has come to an end. O.J. selflessly served our dear country all his life. He will be missed,” he added.
