Public Utility and Regulatory Authority (Pura) has written an ultimatum to King FM to explain reason why its should not be penalised. 

However, the regulatory body did not give any offence committed by the radio station.

But it said it is concerned through its monitoring of all content broadcast over King FM which it added are not “in-keepin” with the rules.

“In this vein, you are hereby asked by the Authority to give reason as to why punitive action should not be taken against you on or before 9 May 2023. Failure to respond by the stipulated date will lead to concrete action taken against you without any further communication,” Sita Demba Mbye Ceesay said in a warning letter to the radio.

However, Ebrima Jarra, news presenter of King FM said: “we remains resolute and committed to the course of broadcasting free, fair and unbiased news to all. We will not relent in our efforts to hold the government to account for the wider interest of all.”
