The Gambia Police Force has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident along the Farafenni–Jarra Soma Highway, between Farafenni and Bereto.

Police said the crash, which involved a van and a bus, claimed the lives of seven people, who were pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic Police and Crime Scene Investigation officers are currently managing the scene, conducting investigations and regulating traffic.

Police said further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
