Amadou Sabally clinched Silver for The Gambia in the boys’ 200m final at the inaugural ANOCA African School Games in Algeria, clocking an impressive 21.22 seconds to finish second.
Buba Bayo narrowly missed a podium spot, finishing fourth with a time of 21.33 seconds.

In the women’s 200m final, Sirreh Sanneh and Aminata Beyai put up a spirited fight but fell just short of the medals. Sanneh crossed the line in 4th place, while Beyai finished 6th in a competitive field.
Despite the near misses, the performances highlight The Gambia’s emerging sprint talent and the potential to grow stronger on the African stage.
