
It’s double Silver for The Gambia as both the girls’ and boys’ beach volleyball teams finished second at the 1st ANOCA African School Games in Algeria.

In the women’s final, Hoja Njie and Mariama Sambou fell 2-0 (21-14, 21-16) to host nation Algeria in the Gold Medal Match, ending an unbeaten run that showcased their remarkable teamwork and spirit.


In the boys’ final, Ensa Kanyi and Abdoulie Bah pushed Algeria to the limit, taking the match to a deciding golden set after splitting the first two sets (Algeria 24-22 Gambia, Gambia 21-15 Algeria). However, they narrowly lost the golden set 15-13, settling for Silver.
Both teams’ performances highlight Gambia’s rising talent in beach volleyball and mark a proud moment for the nation at the continental school games.
