Tensions erupted in Manjai on Wednesday when a group of angry youths stormed the community park and removed the goalposts.

The incident followed the decision by both the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) and the Executive Coordinator (Governor) of the Kanifing Municipality to grant the Manjai Sports Association permission to resume activities at the venue.

The youths accuse the sports committee of corruption and mismanagement, a claim that has fueled ongoing friction within the community.

The development has raised concerns among residents about growing divisions over the park’s management.
