The Gambia on Sunday observed Remembrance Day at McCarthy Square in Banjul, paying tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The ceremony, held on 9 November 2025, was presided over by Vice President Muhammed B S Jallow.

It brought together senior government officials, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, veterans and families of fallen heroes.

Wreaths were laid in honour of those who died serving their country and defending peace.

Every year, The Gambia joins other Commonwealth nations in commemorating Remembrance Day to recognise the courage and sacrifice of servicemen who fought in the World Wars and other conflicts.
