A heartbreaking tragedy has hit the Gunjur community after three teenagers were feared drowned at a section of the coastline known as Nyabada.

The victims were Daniel Corea, Tibo Jatta and Sulayman Jallow, who reportedly went swimming with friends on Sunday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said the boys entered the water around 3pm and have not been seen since.
Residents, fishermen and local authorities immediately launched a search operation, which continued late into the evening, but the boys were still missing at the time of filing this report.

All three were pupils of Immaculate Primary School in Gunjur. Their disappearance has left classmates, teachers and residents in deep shock as the community gathers in prayer and support for the families.
