Trust Bank Gambia has donated 2.5 million dalasis to the country’s senior football team in support of their AFCON competition in Ivory Coast in January 2024.

Speaking at the revealing ceremony, Ngillan Saine, managing director of Trust Bank, urged Gambians to rally behind the team both financially and morally, while urging people to join the government in supporting the senior team.

“We are also providing GRTS with support so that for the rest of us who cannot grace the occasion can sit in our comfort zone and enjoy the competition. So, I am calling on everybody to join us and join the government in this. We can do it. We need to bring the cup home and we can do it. Trust Bank is very proud to be associating with the senior team,” she said.

Pap Saine, a veteran sports journalist added that: “As I always say in football, you must participate financially and morally to boost the moral participation of our footballers because without financial resources you cannot produce results. So, we appeal to the business sector and also other private agencies to join hands like Trust Bank which is a role model in terms of sponsorship.”

Musa Ngum who also spoke thanked Trust Bank for the support while calling  on other banks and institutions to emulate Trust Bank in providing support to the senior team.
