Gambia national team coach Johnathan McKinstry has included forward Youssoupha Sanyang in his squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Senegal.

Sanyang, who is Gambian-born, has previously been capped once for the senior national team, despite earlier representing Senegal at U20 level.

The Slavia Prague forward had been the subject of interest from both The Gambia and Senegal regarding his international future.

However, his inclusion in McKinstry’s latest squad appears to confirm his decision to commit his international career to his country of birth.

Sanyang’s call up is expected to add more attacking options to the Scorpions as they prepare for the high profile friendly encounter against the Teranga Lions.
